Monroe County Public Fishing Lake Trip

Monroe County Alabama Public Fishing Lake

Our Fishing Trip To Monroe County Public Fishing Lake

Well this was not my first trip to Monroe County Public Fishing Lake in Monroe County Alabama outside of the town of Beatrice. On this day in March of 2023 the weather was clear and slightly windy on this day. I called ahead of time and asked if they had rental boats and trolling motors but to my dismay they had aluminum boats that you could rent along with life jackets and paddles but no trolling motors. I recommend you bring a trolling motor and battery if you plan on renting a boat. The Monroe County Lake is way to big to attempt to paddle across and attempt to fish. Monroe County Lake Fishing Pier

All I have to say about this location on Monroe County Public Fishing Lake is that it must be a hot spot. There was enough old men fishing of this fishing pier you could not get from one end of it to another with out knocking one of them in the water. We did not get a chance to fish off of it but I kept my eyes on the dock for a while and did not see anyone pull any fish in. I blame the water level being up from the previous days rain and the wind.

What We Caught Fishing The Lake

We spent about four hours fishing the Monroe County Fishing Lake. We started out paddling across the lake. After 30 minutes of paddling to extreme muscle failure we paddle back across the lake and dump the boat due to the wind. We start working the near bank and my son catches one Bream and a small Largemouth Bass back to back. After a few hours beating the bank throwing jigs and plastic worms we call it a day.
