Shell Creek Boat Launch At Millers Ferry
4/14/23 Update: Water level is slightly up. Water Temp is in the 70s. Just a short drive from Camden, Al, on Highway 28 East over the Alabama River bridge you will find Shell Creek Landing. Turn right after crossing the bridge and follow the signs. It is situated on the opposite side of the bridge from the Miller’s Ferry Campground.
Boat Launch Fee
If you are wanting to fish the Lake Millers Ferry, Alabama area and you are looking for a decent ramp to launch your boat or PWC look no further than the Shell Creek Landing. At this time The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have implemented a new launch fee collection procedure. Follow this link to pay your launch fee before you Come Fish Alabama at recreation.gov or https://www.sam.usace.army.mil/Media/News-Releases/Article/3017602/alabama-river-lakes-changes-collection-method-of-boat-launch-day-use-fees/
Restroom
Yes there is a bathroom available at the Shell Creek Boat Landing. It is for male and female. It is cleaned daily and it is big enough to change clothes in. There is plenty of parking available with two ramps to launch your boat. At this time the ramp is clear of debris.
The only draw back is the small dock. I am hoping in the near future they will put in a larger dock. Other than a private ramp at the Millers Ferry Marina which is now closed and one at the Millers Ferry Campground, which can only be used by campers this is the only Corp of Engineers Landing in the area.
Be Careful. As the sign says above Miller’s Ferry Lock and Dam is only one mile downstream. When you start coming out to the main channel there is a lot of debris floating around. At this time all of the channel marking buoys are missing. So if you are a first timer go real slow when leaving Shell Creek.
